The SWITCH 5500 is Mr. Fog’s latest disposable vape. Founded in 2018, Mr. Fog is well-known in the vaping world. Over the past five years, they have launched many disposable devices, from modest 500-puff devices to their highest-puff-count disposable, the SWITCH, which offers 5500 puffs.

The SWITCH 5500 is an all-in-one disposable vape device that comes pre-filled with 15ml of e-juice. It’s available in 5% nicotine strength (50mg/ml) and is made with tobacco-free nicotine (TFN). Each SWITCH 5500 is draw-activated and features an adjustable airflow dial on the front of the device. These devices are rechargeable through the Type-C charging port on each device’s bottom.

Design & Build Quality

The Mr. Fog SWITCH 5500 reminded me of another disposable vape, the Binaries SE6000. Despite the lack of affiliation, the two devices share a striking similarity. Both are made of plastic, colorful, and feature an adjustable airflow dial on the front. The SWITCH 5500 is compact and comfortable to hold, with a unique design featuring white plastic and a color representing the flavor inside.

The Mr. Fog SWITCH 5500 is designed to deliver 5500 puffs per device, thanks to the 15ml of e-juice it contains. However, it’s important to note that you won’t be able to get all 5500 puffs from a single charge. That’s why the SWITCH 5500 comes with a 650mAh rechargeable battery that uses Type-C charging. This allows you to vape for a few hundred puffs on a single charge, recharge, and then repeat the process until the e-juice is finished. The airflow control dial on the SWITCH 5500 is interesting, but it is not unique, as I mentioned earlier.

The dial can spin a full 360°; however, the actual adjustment range is very small. The airflow slot is only about a sixth of the dial’s total size, so the adjustment range is not as wide as you might expect. Most of the range when turning the dial is the airflow being completely closed, with only a small portion actually allowing you to fine-tune the draw.

The device’s limited adjustment range is disappointing. A wider airflow slot would have allowed for a better draw. Currently, it offers a loose mouth-to-lung draw with the airflow open, and a tight MTL draw when closed. The SWITCH 5500 features a Type-C charging port for fast charging, with a white LED light on the bottom indicating draw and charging status.
